Red Tower
About the Location: The Red Tower rises from the cliffs above the Bay of Knives, its beacon cutting through the mist to guide ships past jagged rocks and turbulent waters. Built from red stone and anchored deep into the mountain, the tower serves both as a lighthouse and a high-security prison. While the upper levels house vigilant watchkeepers and signal crews, the lower chambers descend into the rock itself, holding dangerous criminals and political prisoners in isolation. A symbol of both safety and severity, the Red Tower is a place where light meets shadow—its flame a warning not just to sailors, but to those who would defy the law.

Terrain Outline: This battle map uses two levels, with the tower itself forming the upper level and the rest of the map forming the lower level. The yellow teleportation circle is the player entry point, and the green teleportation circle leads to the arena. The stream consists of water tiles, while the trees and boulders are obstacle tiles. The brown path is composed of ladder tiles, and the mountain is climbing terrain. The red tower is an enclosure tile and also a special terrain tile: it has broad wall tiles on its rooftop. Creatures standing on these tiles gain line of sight to the entire map, +3 dodge, and +1 RG with all abilities. A creature inside the enclosure can move onto these upper wall tiles using the interior spiral staircase, which is a ladder tile. Moving from the interior to the exterior rooftop in this way costs 1 normal movement. The brown path leads into the main enclosure entrance.
Quest Briefing: Whispers of betrayal have reached the upper flames of the Red Tower. Though the Red Mages have long served as guardians of arcane balance, a splinter faction has begun to take root within their ranks—traitors who seek to overthrow the ancient order from within. The loyal mages cannot risk open conflict, but they watch carefully. If you can challenge and defeat one of the suspected traitors in a sanctioned duel, you’ll earn the trust of the true Red Mages—and a reward worthy of your bravery. But tread carefully: not all traitors reveal themselves so easily.
