Forsaken City

About the Location: The Forsaken City lies crumbling along a remote shoreline of Gooley Island, its once-grand port overtaken by ruin and silence. Built upon ancient sacred ground, the city’s prosperity was short-lived—plagued by natural disasters, illness, and sorrow said to stem from angered ancestral spirits. Now, only a sparse and wary community remains, preserving customs shaped by loss and reverence. Though shunned by most, the city draws curious adventurers and treasure seekers, eager to unearth the secrets buried beneath its haunted stones. The Red Army holds little sway here, but outsiders are advised to tread respectfully—and never enter alone.

Terrain Outline: This battle map uses a single levels. The light-green teleportation circle is the player entry point and the orange teleportation circle leads to the arena. The stone clusters are obstacle tiles. The broken buildings are enclosure tiles. The light green rectangular ruined structures are wall tiles. The pathway tiles are special terrain tiles: any creature on a path tile is untouchable by spirits and all spirits are hidden from them.

Quest Briefing: Evil spirits often wander dangerously close to the warded paths of the Forest of Sorrow. One of the only ways to build favor with the locals in the forsaken city is to slay these outlier spirits. Step off the path and scream to draw one out—then slay it before it can call for more. Leave the trails a little safer than you found it and the locals will reward you.
