Dragon's Nest

About the Location: Dragon’s Nest is a towering mountain range located on the northwestern edge of Gooley Island, where jagged peaks rise above the clouds and vanish into the mist. The range serves as home to the mighty dragons, who have carved deep lairs and wide nesting halls into the stone cliffs. Once bound by an ancient treaty, the dragons accepted offerings of treasure and livestock in exchange for their silence and distance. In recent years, however, the deliveries have gone unanswered, and no messengers have returned. Though the skies remain still, the people of Gooley speak in hushed tones of old hungers waking. The Nest is a place of awe and dread, where ancient magic coils through the stone and the wind carries the distant echo of wings.

Terrain Outline: This battle map uses a two levels with the water tiles being the lower level. The pink teleportation circle is the player entry point and the yellow teleportation circle leads to the arena. The shrubs are obstacle tiles. The stone stairs are climbing tiles. The cliff sides (darker stone regions) are climbing tiles. The hut and tent (blue coverings) are enclosure tiles. The misty water tiles are special terrain tiles: these water tiles block line of sight in the same way as enclosure tiles.

Quest Briefing: A flight of dragons have begun circling a mountain ridge near Dragon’s Nest, disrupting the peace and alarming nearby settlements. Though they haven’t struck, their presence is seen as a threat. The council has issued a call to arms: track the creatures, confront them one at a time, and put an end to the menaces before they brings fire to the region.
