Dornar

About the Location: Dornar is a majestic coastal city where the river from Lake Maya meets the sea. Its skyline is dominated by soaring spires of stone and crystal, with the Grand Spire rising above them all—a towering wizard's tower visible for miles across the ocean. Built along the cliffs and riverbanks, Dornar’s architecture is a labyrinth of arcane bridges, narrow stairways, and high platforms, each connecting the many towers that serve as homes, academies, and arcane guilds. The city pulses with magical energy, and its streets shimmer with enchantments, illusions, and whispered incantations. Scholars, spellwrights, and mystics flock to Dornar not just to study, but to ascend—both literally and magically—within its spiraling heights. It is a city of knowledge, secrets, and quiet ambition, cloaked in sea mist and starlight.

Terrain Outline: This battle map uses five levels, each divided by one of the white walls with the water being the lowest level and the top left corner being the highest level. The red teleportation circle is the player entry point and the pink teleportation circle leads to the arena. The tan/white dividers and the monuments (blue triangles) are wall tiles. The turrets (white/tan squares with blue spires on top of them) are enclosure tiles. The blue and white steps are latter tiles with the blue tiles leading directly into the largest turret enclosure. The cliffs touching the water are climbing tiles. The turrets are special terrain tiles: any creature standing on a turret tile gains +3 ability power when using spell items and +1 ability power when using NON-spell items.

Quest Briefing: The blue-spired turrets along Dornar’s coast are key to the city’s magical ecosystem, designed to draw energy from controlled storms to power wards, lights, and enchantments throughout the city. Each tower is tended by a member of the Tidewardens, a peaceful order of mages who specialize in weather-working and energy flow. One of the coastal towers, however, has begun to lose its charge, leaving parts of the lower city without magical support. To help restore balance, a capable spellcaster is asked to travel to the tower and summon a focused lightning strike into its storm crystal. The ritual isn’t dangerous, but it requires careful timing and a steady hand. Once the tower is recharged several times, the city’s arcane flow should return to normal—until the next storm is needed.
